Every plant spends 1 min as a Seed, 10 as a Seedling, 10 as a Sapling and 30 Fruiting, so each one reaches Crossbreed about 21 minutes after planting. Berries stay in Crossbreed longer (5 min instead of 1).
Real times vary
Base numbers from the game files (September 2026), read as minutes. Poor light, water, temperature or soil slow a plant, more G genes speed it up, and servers can change growth speed.
The eight stages
- Seed: just planted. It already counts as a neighbour for crossbreeding.
- Seedling: growing.
- Sapling: clone it now to keep the genes it has before crossing.
- Crossbreed: its genes are worked out once, as it enters this stage, from the plants touching it.
- Mature: crossing is done. Check the genes and clone it to keep them.
- Fruiting: the harvest grows.
- Ripe: harvest it. It stays ripe for about a day.
- Dying: harvest before this or lose it.
